Thank You!!

So I have to take the time to say THANK YOU to my anonymous and honest friend! On Friday I went shopping with my mom in Idaho Falls. We went to several stores, and I got tired of carrying my entire purse so I just took my wallet out and carried just it. The last store we went to was Kohl's, I didn't purchase anything but my mom did. We then left and headed home - we were cutting it a little close since I still had to go home and get ready for Isaac's work party. I dropped my mom and Carson off at my mom's house and went home to get ready. It wasn't until I was getting out of my car and gathering everything to take inside that I realized that I couldn't find my wallet!! AACK!! Instant panic!! I searched and searched and searched thru the car and every bag. I had Isaac look and I called my mom to see if it had ended up in one of her bags. No luck. By this time I was freaking out. So I quickly looked up Kohl's phone number and called.....and hallelujah they had it and it was locked in their safe at customer service!! I told them I would be up no later than the next day and proceeded to get ready for the part. I was still worried, my wallet had our checkbook, my debit card, our credit card, my drivers license, my Costco card and of course cash in it. I am a very trusting person and want to believe the best of everyone so I was holding out hope that everything would be there....Isaac is not so trusting and he was thinking the worst.... So we ended up going to the party and then picking up Carson and going to Idaho Falls, lucky for us Kohl's is open until midnight for the holidays! We made it up there about 11:20pm and I ran in and yippee for me everything was still in my wallet!! I am so very grateful that it was some honest person who found it and turned it in! I also am glad that I still have reason to believe that there is still good in people!!
Merry Christmas

My Sweet Boy

Carson is such a sweet boy!! I can't even begin to express just how much I love him! He is such a sensitive, loving and caring little guy. Earlier today he saw me crying and came and climbed into my lap. We then had the following conversation:

Carson: Mom, do you hate my Dad?
Me: No!
Carson: Mom, do you hate me??
Me: Oh no honey I love you sooooo much!
Carson: Mom, you need a tubby bear, I get you my tubby bear!

He then proceeded to bring me 4 of his little teddy bears. It makes my heart glad to know that he is so caring of others (this is not a one time occurrence) but it breaks my heart to know he worries about things like himself or someone else not being loved. Sometimes I forget that he's only 3, I am so grateful that I get to be a part of his life - I have a feeling he's going to be an awesome man some day.

Oh, and let me tell you that I can tell he is my child! It has been snowy and cold (like in the teens) and he still begs everyday for a Popsicle - and let me tell ya I could go for some ice cream right about now! ;-)

End of November?!?! What?!?!

I can't believe that tomorrow is the first day of December! It doesn't seem like December should be here already! So we had a pretty good Thanksgiving, quiet for the most part which was good. We went to my uncle Kim's house for dinner, there was a pretty good turn out too! I think we ended up with about 40 people there but I could be off.... Then we went over to Isaac's parents for a little while for pie later that evening. It was nice but I'm glad it's over with ;) Black Friday was quiet too, I went to 3 stores: Kmart, Sears and Deseret Book and I didn't go until about 9 so it wasn't too bad. It did however remind me why you should never take kids (I got to chase Carson around the mall.....twice. Ugh) and that it's much better to go with someone else. Oh well, I think that from now on I will stick to internet deals either on Black Friday or on Cyber Monday. I am now about 1/2 done with all my Christmas shopping and have all of my Christmas decorations up!! Yippee!! Now to start wrapping and finish up the last few things.......Oh and randomly if you ever happen to find yourself in Preston, Idaho I would recommend eating at Pizza Villa - yummyummyumm!!

videoSo this last weekend my sisters and I took my mom to Utah to celebrate her birthday that was last Wednesday (11-18)! We had a blast and the video is from when we went to eat at Joe's Crab Shack in West Jordan. We really did have tons of fun shopping, talking, eating and did I mention talking? We got to spend time with one of our best friends JoDee and saw her hubby Jason and their cute little family. I got Carson's Christmas shopping done so that was awesome! And we actually had good weather until the drive back....then it snowed some but it could have been way worse. All in all it was a complete success! Happy Birthday again Mom, I love ya lots and so glad you are my mom and my friend!!

Cleaning....Ugh

I will be the first to admit that I am not the best housekeeper. That being said, I think that housework should be a shared job. I have the viewpoint that since I work outside our home 30-35 hours per week and Isaac works 40 per week that we should share the responsibilities at home. If I didn't work outside the home I would feel differently, but I don't so..... My problem comes from the fact that Isaac claims to not know what needs to be done around the house. I am at least somewhat inclined to believe that since he really doesn't notice things (he can be pretty oblivious) on top of my idea of clean and Isaac's idea of clean are vastly different. So, what do I do? I hate feeling like a nag and having to tell him everyday (usually several times per day) what I need help with. I have tried a chore chart and a list of things that need done. Both of them were ignored by my dear husband. I am out of ideas and very quickly running out of patience since my job has become increasingly stressful. Like I said, ugh. Does anyone have any ideas?? I am in desperate need of some new ones! Oh, and protesting by not doing anything doesn't work either it stresses me out to have a disgusting house on top of I have a hard time being mean like that and it takes A LOT before Isaac even notices something is going on! So, like I said, any ideas would be appreciated. Thanks in advance!! :)

Thankful

So I know it's been a reallllllly long time, but what can I say, like is crazy like that. Rather than try to give you every little detail from the last several months I thought I would tell you some of the things I am thankful for right now (since it is the month of Thanksgiving and all ;-) ) so here is my list:
  • I am soooooo thankful that we got a new (to us) Tahoe!!! Yippee!! Let me tell you that it was time to move on from the Kia.
  • Along with the new Tahoe I am thankful that we found such an awesome deal (almost $100 per month lower than what we had budgeted for!)!
  • I am thankful for my wonderful family!
  • I am also thankful for my wonderful Utah family (yes that means you Robin, Rosemary, Ali, Amber & Shelley) for reminding me that I have a blog and that someone is actually interested in reading it.
  • I am thankful for the fact that Halloween is over - I'm not sure why but it's really not my cup-o-tea if ya know what I mean.
  • I am thankful for some wonderful examples in my life (yup Jenny I'm talking about you again)
  • I am thankful for the start of the holiday season!!
  • I am thankful that New Moon is almost here and that I have plans to go with a great group of girls to see it and that I will probably see it at least one more time in the theatre after that too!
  • I am thankful for some wonderful people to work with everyday!
  • I am thankful that I have about 1/3 of my Christmas shopping done and know what I am getting for almost everyone else!
  • I am thankful for fun shows to watch on TV with a fun friend (I only watch 2 TV shows - So You Think You Can Dance and Glee)
  • I am thankful that I have cut down my TV watching to only 2 shows per week ;-)
  • I am thankful for Chocolate Heaven popcorn and Diet Cherry Vanilla Pepsi
  • I am thankful for an incredibly supportive hubby who I love more than I ever dreamed possible.
  • I am so very thankful for my wonderful little boy who is sometimes a trial and reminds me where my shortcoming are but is a blessing everyday.
  • Last but not least I am so thankful for lessons, church talks, blog posts (obviously not my own), conversations and even facebook posts/comments that come at just the right time and are a reminder of things that I sometimes struggle to remember by my self.

There are so many more things that I am thankful for but I will restrain myself ;-) I am going to try to update more often....we'll see how that goes.

Busy Buy Busy

Wow I can't believe how busy it's been this year! This will be a short post but hopefully I'll be able to add more in the next little while... Don't hold your breath though ;). So a few short updates... ISAAC - turned 25 on March 4th. We just had a quiet family celebration. He also has been working on his Chevelle every chance he gets. CHRISTINE - is still working and being a mom. I did get a new phone for Valentine's Day - a blackberry curve - that I LOVE! (I'm actually using it to post this so we'll see how it goes). CARSON - has been sick more days than not since mid January. Let me tell you he's not much fun to be around when he's sick :( I'm really trying to tell myself that when it warms up it will get better. I am still amazed at how much Carson changes and grows everyday. He learns new things soooo fast and picks up on and understands so many things that totally surprise me :). So, the whole posting with my phone is kind of cool but kind of tedious for something this long! I'll try to update again soon! XOXO Christine
